Maz Satellite personal accounts are for single user, individual use only. Maz Satellite commercial accounts are for single location use only.
Receivers/PVRs – None
As of October 1, 2014, Shaw Direct’s new “return/repair or replace” procedures have, in effect, rendered their warranty void for all receivers and PVRs that are used outside of Canada.
Their new procedures require telephone-technical assistance to troubleshoot and verify the defective receiver via telephone, issue an RMA number, require the item to be shipped to their repair center and, then, have the repaired or replacement unit re-installed by a Shaw Direct employee at the account owner’s residence.
Installation – Services and Equipment
Installation services, Dishes, LNBs & Cabling are warranted for 6-months. After that time, a service charge will be incurred along with possible charges for equipment repair or replacement.
Take good care of your receivers/PVRs.
To prevent damage from electrical current fluctuations always use Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS). Surge protectors do not protect from voltage drops. Ask your local electrician for purchase sources or bring a UPS with you from your home country.
When storing a receiver for periods of time, put receiver in a plastic bag and remove air from bag before sealing. Then place the sealed bag in another bag and remove air and seal. Store in a tightly covered container such as a garbage can that has a snap-shut lid.
All subscriptions are for 1-year. Payments are due in advance for the first year at time of initial order. Payments are due in advance for the 2nd and subsequent years during the first two weeks of the 11th month of the previous 1-year period. Once paid, there is no refund, in whole or partial, available for subscriptions.
Payments made after the due date incur a 3% Late Charge (minimum Late Charge is US$15.00) after the due date. If renewal subscription payment is not made by end of 1-year term, the account will be canceled and a US$250.00 re-start-up fee will be required to re-enable the account.
If your services have been terminated for reason of non-payment for your subscription, equipment or service calls and you wish to restart services, a US$250 startup fee will be required to re-enable the account. If the programming package you were previously subscribed to is no longer offered, your receiver will be re-activated on a comparable account at the current subscription price.
In addition to telephone conversations with you, Maz Satellite personnel meet each subscriber, in person, prior to or at the time of installation. After purchase and installation and with your new equipment and subscription providing the programming you ordered, the amount paid for Equipment and Labor is non-refundable.
Subscriptions may be canceled by you, the subscriber, at the end of a subscription term without penalty if done with 30 days or more advance notice by writing (email email@example.com).
Transferring Equipment & Subscriptions
If you wish to discontinue service, you must notify us a minimum of 30 days in advance. Subscriptions with equipment may be transferred to a new owner/subscriber for a small fee. If you sell or gift your equipment without the proper notice described above, any remaining time on subscription will be forfeit.
During the first 2-years (from the date a subscription is started and/or a receiver or PVR is activated – whichever event is more recent), should you wish to terminate your service, neither receivers nor PVRs can be ‘released’ from the account. After 2 years, they can be released upon request. During the first two years, should you wish to terminate services, you agree to sell your receivers/PVRs back to Maz Satellite at a mutually agreeable price. This clause is retroactive to January 1, 2013.
Warranty Disclaimer – Limited Liability
Maz Satellite sells subscriptions for programming provided by satellite television providers. Maz Satellite does not warranty that these services will be available in the future nor with the same configurations, programming or other features because Maz Satellite does not own nor control what is transmitted via satellites to your receiver.
Under no circumstances shall Maz Satellite be liable to you or any other person for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising out of our relating to these terms or use of the products and services.

What information does Maz Satellite collect?
Maz Satellite collects information from you when you place an order, communicate with our staff, or when, as a subscriber, you are automatically added to our mailing list. As appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address, mailing address, phone number or credit card information.
Maz Satellite also collects non-Personally Identifiable information about how visitors use our web site; for example, Maz Satellite utilizes web analytics software to track, in aggregate, the number of unique views received by the pages of the web site, the domains from which users originate along with many other analytical data points. The web analytics software may use “cookies,” clear GIFs, or similar technologies to track how users engage with our website or access emails we send. A cookie is a small data file that is placed on your computer’s hard drive by a web server when you visit a web site; each time you visit the website, your web browser sends information from the cookie back to the web server to facilitate identification of users or site visitors and to keep track of other information such as the date and time of your visit. Consult the “Help” portion of your Browser toolbar for information on how to control or disable cookies. Clear GIFs are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on your computer’s hard drive, clear gifs are embedded on Web pages and may not be disabled or controlled through your browser.
What does Maz Satellite use this information for?
Maz Satellite uses this information to process and verify transactions and orders, perform and improve customer service, and to send periodic communications to our customers.
For example, we may use the email address you provide to us to send you information pertaining to your order or, subsequently, about your account. We may also send you information about Maz Satellite, or related, products or services, important notifications regarding your subscriptions or account, and other related information. You will never receive emails from 3rd parties except for the credit card payment processor.
However, if at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails concerning offers, promotions, or otherwise related to marketing, you may do so by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Due to the nature of the service(s), we must reserve the right to send you certain other non-marketing communications related to your service(s) with Maz Satellite including via email.
Does Maz Satellite disclose information to outside parties?
We have never and will never sell or rent your personal information to any outside party, for any purpose. Period. Except as described below, we will not disclose your personal information to outside parties – though we may share aggregate or non-Personally Identifiable information about users with outside parties.
It may be necessary, at times, to share certain personal information with trusted third parties who assist us in conducting our business or providing our services. These companies are authorized to use information only as necessary to provide services to us.
We may release personal information, when we believe in good faith that release is necessary, to comply with legal process (such as a subpoena or court order), to protect our rights or property, to enforce the Terms of Service, or protect your safety or the safety of others.
Also, if we are acquired by or merged with another company, if substantially all of our assets are transferred to another company, or as part of a bankruptcy proceeding, we may transfer information to the acquiring company.
Correcting and Updating Your Personal Information
